We are based in the spa village of Lanjaron, Andalucia southern Spain and cover all provinces in Andalucia.  We will visit your home and conduct a thorough assessment of your current situation , discuss your needs with you and provide practical advice on how you can achieve your dreams of a self-sufficient lifestyle. Our Self-Sufficiency Consultancy is comprehensive and wide-ranging ,we will address the following issues, plus any other self-sufficiency concerns you may have
Energy – we assess your current circumstances and provide practical information on your options, including – solar, wind, water, and geo-thermal sources of power
Water & Waste -  we review how you use water and dispose of your waste. We offer solutions on how you can reduce, re-use and recycle your water and waste
What to Grow – we test your soil, identify any problems and in discussion with you draw up a planting plan that allows you to become self-sufficient in fruit and vegetables
Animal Husbandry -  if you are interested in taking the next step in self-sufficiency and keeping animals, we can give you advice on the basic considerations including the legal requirements  to keeping – chickens, ducks & geese, pigs, sheep & goats, cattle and bees
Construction – we can provide advice on alternative building methods, such as straw bales, adobe, cane, rammed earth, although planning permission must always be sought first

ORGANIC GARDENING CONSULTANCY

Although we run an Introduction to Organic Gardening weekend course, we have added another consultancy service where we will come to your property and advise you on how to get started in your garden. As with the Self-Sufficiency we visit your home and make an assessment of your land, including testing your soil. We will discuss with you what you want to grow and how you can best achieve this. We will provide all the notes from our Weekend Organic Gardening course for you to keep and act as a reference for the future.

OUR EXPERTISE

Sue has run her own Environmental Management Consultancy in the UK for over 12 years, she has recently retired to concentrate on developing the Self-Sufficiency Consultancy in Andalucia, and along with her husband Pete a range of Self-Sufficiency courses. As a Chartered Environmentalist and until recently a Registered Environmental Auditor , Sue hopes to bring her years of knowledge and breadth of experience in industry , to assisting people who have decided to make that life-style change, but are perhaps a little overwhelmed by the jargon and the options.

OUR  ASSURANCE

We are not associated with any company selling solar equipment, wind turbines and  the like, we are not on commission from any such company. Our Self-Sufficiency Consultancy is completely independent, advice provided is based on the information we receive from  clients and the facts identified at the time of the consultancy.
Any consultancy in addition to the initial day, will be at an agreed  rate based on the nature of the work.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

We  charge 150 euros for the days consultancy, which includes the electronic report  or Course Notes , to be paid at the time of the consultancy. We also charge the cost of fuel to your location from Lanjaron.
