REFRESHING & INVIGORATING HERBS

 

Aromatic herbs can refresh and invigorate both the body and the mind.

CITRUS - lemon, lime and grapefruit are all known for their revitalising qualities and are used in many commercial hair and body treatments. A simple invigorating body scrub can be made at home:

Citrus Body Scrub

Makes sufficient for 1 treatment

Ingredients

2tbsp ground rice
1 tbsp sea salt
1 tsp finely grated lemon rind
1 tsp almond oil

Essential oils of grapefruit & lemon

MINT – mint has been used for centuries as a reviving herb, either drunk in teas or used
particularly in foot treatments, as seen here

Refreshing Mint Foot Balm

Makes approximately 100ml

Ingredients

75 ml Macerated Calendula Oil
15ml of either avocado or wheatgerm oil
15g beeswax
25 drops of peppermint essential oil

ROSEMARY & BASIL – the essential oils are both excellent for sharpening the senses
and overcoming mental fatigue. Place a few drops of each oil in an oil burner, when you are
working or perhaps revising for exams

TAKE CARE – when using herbal preparations, always carry out a patch test
first. Always use sterilised containers and never keep herbal products longer than
recommended
