TWO DAY INTRODUCTION TO ORGANIC GARDENING COURSE

Join us at our herb farm above Lanjaron, set in the foot hills of the Sierra Nevada, for a two day practical introduction to Organic Gardening. The course is practical and hands-on and will introduce you to the basic principles of gardening organically and all the benefits that come with it.
Each day starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm, the course includes all refreshments, course equipment and notes. All you need bring are a sturdy pair of shoes, an open mind and willing hands.

11.15-13.15 Soil Improvement Techniques – composting, liquid feeds, double–digging

14.00-15.30 Seeds, cuttings and plants for free
15.30-15.45 TEA
15.45-16.45 Pests & Diseases – companion planting, bio-diversity, organic insecticides

DAY 2

09.30-10.00 Introduction to permaculture & biodynamic gardening
10.00-11.00 Extending your growing season – polytunnels, cold-frames
11.00-11.15 TEA
11.15-13.15 Managing Your Vegetable Beds – Crop Rotation, weeding, mulching,watering
13.15-14.00 LUNCH
14.00-15.30 Herbs – growing, harvesting & using
15.30-15.45 TEA – herb tea tastings
15.45-16.45 Harvesting, Storing & preserving your crops
