FAQs
Where do we stay?
Guests are provided with 6 nights accommodation at a 2 * hotel in Lanjaron. We will provide a daily transport service to and from Cortijo de los Suenos apart from one morning when we will lead a guided walk up the mountain in order to identify local herbs.
What about food?
We will provide a delicious lunch every day as well as a homemade selection of teas, drinks and snacks to keep your appetites at bay! Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements and we will try our best to cater for them.
What happens in the evening?
It’s up to you! After a day in our company the evenings are all yours to spend as you wish. The traditional Spanish town of Lanjaron is right on your doorstep with a great array of bars and restaurants as well as the many spa treatments for which this beautiful Moorish town is famed. For more information or tips and advice feel free to ask us or pop into the Tourist Information Centre which is on the main street opposite the Balneario
Do I need any specialist equipment?
Other than a pair of stout shoes, sun protection and suitable clothing all you need to bring is an open mind, a keen attitude and a pair of willing hands. Sun, Sea and Self Sufficiency is an energetic, fun and hands on course and every member of the group is expected to muck in, get their hands dirty and contribute as we are convinced that this is the most enjoyable and effective way of learning the core skills of self-sufficiency . On leaving, each guest will take away with them a folder containing information sheets, recipes and samples of the produce that they have made.

Why choose us?
Our approach to self sufficiency is not one of earnest martyrdom. While thorough and pragmatic we are not advocating the wearing of hair shirts and instead attempt to do the best we can without foregoing life’s little luxuries. We do not preach, we do not patronise and we do not aim to convert. We instead provide an opportunity for those who want to become more self sufficient to learn the basic skills in a fun and lively environment surrounded by other people with similar interests. As a guest on one of our courses, we will enable you to dip your toes into the pool of self-sufficiency without getting your fingers burnt.
